NSPE Senior Manager of Government Relations Sarah Ogden attended a meeting of the Federal Communications Commission's Advisory Committee on Diversity for Communications in the Digital Age. The meeting included a report on broadband issues and a presentation on adoption of broadband technology on tribal lands. The FCC created the National Broadband Plan, a proposal to encourage the spread of high-speed Internet access.

NSPE submitted comments to the National Partnership for Highway Quality on NPHQ's definition of highway quality. NPHQ's partners include the Federal Highway Administration, American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials, and Associated General Contractors. The organization also has partnerships with Departments of Transportation in Florida, Georgia, Maryland, Michigan, New Jersey, and Texas.

NSPE Senior Manager of Government Relations Sarah Ogden attended the President's Council of Advisors on Science and Technology meeting. PCAST is an advisory group of the nation's leading scientists and engineers who directly advise President Obama on policy in areas where an understanding of science, technology, and innovation is key to strengthening America's economy.

NSPE Senior Manager of Government Relations Sarah Ogden participated in the Department of Commerce's National Advisory Council on Innovation and Entrepreneurship teleconference. The council advises Commerce Secretary Gary Locke on policy relating to building small businesses and helps keep the department engaged in a regular dialogue with the entrepreneurship and small business communities.
