HNTB Corp. has named Chris Price, P.E., president of its Central Division. Price, of Kansas City, Missouri, will oversee operations, project delivery, and client service in nine states. He will lead approximately 600 engineering professionals. Price has been with HNTB for more than 30 years in several roles, most recently as national bridge practice leader where he oversaw the firm’s delivery for bridge projects around the country. Price holds a master’s degree in business administration and a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from the University of Missouri.
Vince DiPofi, P.E., of Monclova, Ohio, will serve as the new president and CEO of the SSOE Group, a global architecture, engineering, and construction management firm. Having formerly served as the COO and executive vice president, DiPofi has 35 years’ experience in the industry and has been with SSOE since 2000. He has significant experience, serving as SSOE’s chief strategy officer and acting as a key advisor to the CEO on the strategic direction of the firm. He received his bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Toledo, where he also serves on the dean’s advisory board for the college of engineering.
The Society of Women Engineers recently elected Kerrie Greenfelder, P.E., to serve a two-year term on the organization’s board of directors. Greenfelder, a department manager and senior project manager in the water practice at Burns & McDonnell, has more than 20 years’ experience in several roles on projects involving water and wastewater treatment design and construction. She is the first Burns & McDonnell employee-owner to serve on the SWE board. She holds a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering with an environmental emphasis from the University of Kansas.
Craig Musselman, P.E., F.NSPE, has been awarded the Glen L. Martin Practitioner Award from the American Society for Engineering Education’s Civil Engineering Division. The award is presented annually to a practicing engineer for career-long contributions to engineering education. Musselman, of Portsmouth, New Hampshire, served 10 year on ABET’s Board of Directors, and he coauthored NSPE’s Professional Engineering Body of Knowledge. He also has provided input to academia on the need to incorporate outcomes such as project management in ABET general accreditation criteria for all engineering disciplines, and for the inclusion of climate change in undergraduate civil engineering curricula.
Albert Hernandez, P.E., has joined HNTB Corp. as aviation project director and vice president. Based in the firm’s Miami office, Hernandez’s duties include leading HNTB’s service to aviation clients in South Florida, managing large-scale projects, and serving as a client liaison. He was previously assistant director for the Miami-Dade Department of Transportation and Public Works for 14 years. He holds a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from the University of Miami and a master’s in business administration from Florida International University.
The Veolia Group has promoted John Hatmaker, P.E., to vice president of operations in the Municipal and Commercial/Central Region. Most recently, he served as project manager and transition manager for sites in Oklahoma and Texas. Before joining Veolia, a firm specializing in optimized resource management, he held technical and leadership positions in the chemical manufacturing industry for 35 years. Hatmaker has a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering and a master’s in business administration from Mississippi State University and is also principal of Hatmaker Consulting LLC.
