Jeff Andrews, P.E., was one of 11 Idaho State University alumni honored with ISU 2018 Professional Achievement Awards at ISU’s commencement ceremonies in May. Since 2011, he has been a partner in Feuerborn Associates Engineering in Pocatello, Idaho. In this position he is involved in all aspects of projects, including management, conceptual design, feasibility studies and capital cost estimating, detail design, drafting, and field inspections and observation. Andrews has participated in the Idaho Society of Professional Engineers and annually helps with the Southeast Idaho MATHCOUNTS competition held at ISU. He earned a B.S. in engineering from ISU in 1995 and is working on a master of science degree in environmental engineering from ISU.
Ryan Biggs/Clark Davis Engineering & Surveying, D.P.C., has promoted Chris Latreille, P.E., to principal. Latreille manages many of the firm’s structural design projects in the educational, healthcare, and construction-support markets. He holds master’s and bachelor’s degrees from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. Latreille is the current vice president of the Central New York Chapter of the American Concrete Institute, served as president for three years, and sits on ACI’s Cold Weather Committee 306.
Joe Manous, P.E., has been named the new director of the Institute for Water Resources. As director, Manous oversees a multidisciplinary Field Operating Agency that supports the Army Corps of Engineers Civil Works (water resources) missions. Prior to becoming IWR director, Manous served as a water resources engineer and manager for international activities at IWR. He also worked with the Office of the Assistant Secretary of the Army for Civil Works and taught engineering economics and water resources as an adjunct professor at George Mason University. Manous is a graduate of Georgia Institute of Technology, North Georgia College, the University of Illinois, the US Army War College, and the University of Minnesota.
HNTB Corp. has named Vincent Gallagher, P.E., senior program manager in the firm’s national program management and construction management practice for transit and rail, and senior vice president. He is based in HNTB’s Philadelphia office. Gallagher has more than 40 years of project management experience and has led projects with the Federal Transit Administration, the Federal Railroad Administration, and Amtrak. He has worked with transit agencies in Washington, D.C., Orlando, Boston, Tampa, Jacksonville, Memphis, Nashville, Philadelphia, and San Juan, Puerto Rico. He is a graduate of Villanova University with a degree in civil engineering.
Michael Brown, P.E., has joined Freese and Nichols as senior project manager in the Austin, Texas, office. With more than three decades of experience in project management and coordination for the Texas Department of Transportation, Brown has managed the design and completion of bridges and railroads, urban roadways, highways, and major interchanges in municipalities across the state. Brown was named Engineer of the Year by the Texas Society of Professional Engineers’ DFW Mid-Cities Chapter in 2015. He earned his bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from the University of Texas at Arlington.
New Jersey Institute of Technology has presented Patrick Natale, P.E., F.NSPE, with the 2018 Alumni Achievement Award. Natale is vice president of business strategies for Mott MacDonald and executive director of the United Engineering Foundation. He is a former executive director of NSPE and the American Society of Civil Engineers. At Mott MacDonald, Natale is responsible for supporting marketing and business development initiatives, developing strategic alliances, and strengthening employee recruitment and retention programs. He holds a B.S. in civil engineering from NJIT’s Newark College of Engineering and an M.S. in engineering management.
