Jeremy Runkle, P.E., has been hired as senior project manager in Cardno Inc.’s Clearwater, Florida, office. Runkle brings more than 11 years of experience in transportation engineering and design, leading major roadway projects with technical expertise and performance in production efficiency and continuous process improvement. He has a long record of providing design services, client support, and utility coordination for construction projects, including spearheading projects for the Florida Department of Transportation. Runkle also volunteers for many organizations, including MATHCOUNTS, where he has helped coordinate local and state competitions for the middle school math program.
Rear Admiral (retired) Kate Gregory, P.E., formerly chief of civil engineers and commander of the Naval Facilities Engineering Command, has joined Atkins as executive consultant in its Atkins Nuclear Secured business. She will help the company develop its strategy to further expand into the national laboratories and US Navy markets. Gregory was the first female flag officer in the Navy’s Civil Engineer Corps, and she brings more than 30 years of experience in program and project management, engineering, construction, and infrastructure management. Since retiring from the Navy, she has also held positions at Iowa State University and the Department of Energy’s Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory.
Jeffrey Coleman, P.E., was selected as the 2018–19 vice president of the American Concrete Institute in March. Coleman is an attorney and principal partner of the Coleman Law Firm LLC in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Along with authoring Legal Issues in Concrete Construction and the “Concrete Legal Notes” section of Concrete International, he is longtime representative of engineers, architects, concrete contractors and suppliers, and building owners in numerous aspects of construction. Coleman is a past member of the Minnesota Board of Architecture, Engineering, Land Surveying, Landscape Architecture, Geoscience, and Interior Design.
Thomas Voss, P.E., received an honorary Doctor of Engineering degree from his alma mater, Missouri University of Science and Technology. Voss, a former president and CEO of Ameren Corp. and current executive chairman of Smart Wires, is a former commissioned officer in the Air Force and recipient of a US Air Force Commendation Medal. Voss has spent more than 45 years in the industry. He is a longtime member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers and was honored with the Distinguished Service Award by NSPE’s Professional Engineers in Industry interest group in 2011.
W&A Engineering has named Clint Camp, P.E., director of operations at the firm’s new office in East Nashville, Tennessee. Camp previously worked with Lose & Associates and several Nashville consulting firms, as a county engineer, and he has managed projects for the state of Tennessee. A 2004 graduate of Tennessee Tech University, Camp earned a master’s degree in engineering with a focus on construction management at Vanderbilt University in 2009. Camp, who has more than 15 years of experience working on projects throughout the state, also serves as the president of the Nashville Chapter of the American Society of Civil Engineers.
Kyle Kruger, P.E., has been named one of seven new inductees to the University of Arkansas Academy of Biological and Agricultural Engineering, an honor bestowed upon those who have distinguished themselves in those fields. Kruger, who obtained his bachelor’s degree in biological engineering in 2005 and went on to obtain a master’s degree in environmental engineering in 2009 from the university, has over 10 years of professional experience and currently serves as a project manager for Garver in Norman, Oklahoma.
