John Bush, P.E.John Bush, P.E., has joined Freese and Nichols Inc. as a senior aviation project manager in the firm’s Pearland, Texas, office. He will play an integral role in expanding the firm’s airport engineering and construction projects across the nation. With more than 35 years of experience in civil engineering, Bush has spent the last 28 years specializing in airport development projects and serving in a variety of roles ranging from program manager to design engineer, and construction manager to field inspector. He earned his bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from the University of Houston.

Granger and DimmickNew York Governor Andrew Cuomo has appointed Paul Granger, P.E., and Kris Dimmick, P.E., to the Drinking Water Quality Council. The council is responsible for guiding New York’s actions to ensure all parts of the state have access to clean drinking water.

Granger has more than 29 years of experience in water supply systems. He serves as the Port Washington Water District’s superintendent and vice president of H2M architects + engineers. Granger is a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers, the American Water Works Association, and the Long Island Water Conference. He graduated from Polytechnic University.

Dimmick serves as principal and vice president of operations at Bernier, Carr & Associates P.C. He has more than 20 years of municipal engineering and construction experience. He is involved with many organizations, including NSPE, the American Society of Civil Engineers, the American Public Works Association, and the American Council of Engineering Companies. He earned a bachelor of science in forest engineering and a master of science in resource and environmental engineering from the State University of New York College of Environmental Science and Forestry.

Dan Hart, P.E.Dan Hart, P.E., has been named the 2017 Distinguished Alumnus by Texas Tech University’s College of Architecture and the Architecture Alumni Association. The honor recognizes graduates who have defined excellence in their profession and demonstrated dedication to the field of architecture. Now principal and director of higher education at architecture and engineering firm Parkhill, Smith, and Cooper, Hart graduated from Texas Tech with a double major: a bachelor of architecture and a bachelor of science in civil engineering, with a structures specialization. He has served as an adjunct instructor of architectural engineering at the school. Hart is a fellow of the American Institute of Architects and past president of the Texas Society of Architects.

Brad Hicks, P.E.Habersham Electric Membership Corp. has chosen Brad Hicks, P.E., as its new chief executive officer. Hicks has more than 20 years of leadership experience in electric utilities, with roles at electric cooperatives in Texas and South Carolina and as a principal engineer at the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association. He holds a bachelor of science degree in electrical engineering from Tennessee Technological University and a master of business administration from Aspen University.

Charles Bacon, P.E.Charles Bacon, P.E., of Stillwater, Oklahoma, was announced as a member of the National Academy of Construction class of 2017. He was inducted into the academy at the organization’s annual meeting on October 26. He was also recognized by the Engineering News-Record in 2017 as one of its “Top 25 Newsmakers” for his contributions to the construction industry. Bacon serves as president and CEO at Limbach Holdings Inc. He received a bachelor’s degree in construction management from Utica College and completed studies in the advanced management program at Oxford University.
