National Society of Professional Engineers Announces Partnership with ENERGY STAR®

Members and their clients can now improve the energy efficiency and performance of their facilities and projects, and make a fundamental commitment to protecting the environment, through a new partnership between the National Society of Professional Engineers and U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's ENERGY STAR. Through the partnership, NSPE will be working toward helping members establish energy management approaches to enhance their financial health and preserve the environment for future generations.

The Engineers Joint Contract Documents Committee recently released a revised version of its Procurement Family of Documents. The new documents reflect current legislation, recent judicial activity, and business practices in 2010, and have taken into consideration input from design engineers, construction contractors, owners, equipment manufacturers and vendors, the Water and Wastewater Equipment Manufacturers Association, and attorneys.

The National Society of Professional Engineers, in partnership with the Alexandria City Public Schools and the Virginia Department of Transportation, has been awarded a $99,000 grant from the Federal Highway Administration to expand a successful engineering club at an Alexandria elementary school.
