  • Reginald Benton, P.E.BENTON

    Dale Houdeshell, P.E.HOUDESHELL

    Two members have been inducted into the Academy of Civil Engineers at the Missouri University of Science & Technology. Reginald Benton, P.E., president of Benton & Associates in Jacksonville, Illinois, has more than 34 years of experience with consulting firms and public work at the Illinois DOT. Benton is also a principal and senior structural engineer who designs bridges, buildings, and water and wastewater treatment facilities. He has served on the board for United Way and has been selected as a fellow by the American Council of Engineering Companies. Also named to the academy was Dale Houdeshell, P.E., director of public works for the City of Clayton, Missouri. In this position he manages development review, infrastructure design and construction, facilities maintenance, and many other areas. He has held numerous leadership positions with the Kansas Society of Professional Engineers, the American Public Works Association, and local chapters of other organizations.

  • D. Scott Phillips, P.E.Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal has appointed D. Scott Phillips, P.E., to a six-year term on the Louisiana Professional Engineering and Land Surveying Board. The board is composed of nine professional engineers and two professional land surveyors, and Phillips will be filling a spot for industrial engineers. Both a licensed engineer and land surveyor, Phillips lives in Monroe, Louisiana, working as the regional engineer for Tensar International Corp.

    Richard Mikut Jr., P.E.Babcock and Wilcox Construction Co. has named Richard Mikut Jr., P.E., as the new manager for construction technology. In this role, Mikut will provide leadership, strategy, process improvement efforts, and field support for the energy and security company. He holds a bachelor’s in civil engineering from Ohio State University, a master’s in civil engineering from the University of Akron, and an MBA from Kent State University.

  • Jeff Roman, P.E.Jeff Roman, P.E., was named to the 2014 “40 Under 40” by Building Design & Construction. The 35-year-old civil engineer currently works as national director of engineering for Little Diversified Architectural Consulting, based in Charlotte, North Carolina. Roman is involved in Little’s business planning and daily management of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and structural specialists. He holds a bachelor’s from Lawrence Technological University and an MBA from the University of Florida.

  • John Coffman, P.E.John Coffman, P.E., has been hired as a senior electrical engineer for Trindera Engineering, an electrical and control systems engineering and consulting firm. Working at the firm’s office in Spokane, Washington, Coffman will work in the industrial, manufacturing, and wood products markets. He holds a bachelor’s in electrical engineering from the University of the Pacific and previously held the position of senior facilities electrical engineer for Maxim Integrated.

    Henry Halladay, P.E.Henry Halladay, P.E., has received Strathmore’s Who’s Who Lifetime Achievement Award for engineering consulting. A retired engineer from Boeing, he developed aircraft components and subsystems, hardware design, and communication systems, among many other areas. Halladay was instrumental in the development of a signal analysis laboratory for system analysis. Strathmore’s Who’s Who is published annually, honoring successful individuals who have demonstrated leadership and achievement in their industry or profession.
