Each year, NSPE’s Federal Engineer of the Year Award honors PEs and other top engineers working at federal agencies.

This year’s award ceremony was scheduled for February 22 at the National Press Club in Washington, DC.

2019 FEYA FINALISTS, IN ALPHABETICAL ORDER FROM TOPThe top ten finalists for the 2019 FEYA are

  • Lt. Cdr. Deborah Cox, P.E., US Public Health Service, US Environmental Protection Agency;
  • Maj. Justin Delorit, P.E., US Department of the Air Force, 8th Civil Engineer Squadron;
  • Capt. Dustin Gooden, P.E., US Department of the Air Force, Air Mobility Command;
  • Capt. David Harvey, P.E., US Department of Health and Human Services, Indian Health Service;
  • Melanie Kito, P.E., US Department of the Navy, Naval Facilities Engineering Command;
  • Lt. Kristen Krushinski, P.E., US Department of the Navy, Naval Facilities Engineering Command;
  • James Landreth, P.E., US Department of Homeland Security, US Coast Guard;
  • Marjorie Parsons, P.E., Tennessee Valley Authority;
  • Robert Ware, P.E., US Department of the Air Force, Air Force Research Laboratory; and
  • Daniel Wilcoxen, P.E., US Department of the Air Force, Air Force Special Operations Command.

Rear Admiral Edward Dieser, P.E., chief engineer officer of the US Public Health Service, is scheduled to give the keynote address at the FEYA ceremony. Dieser advises the Department of Health and Human Services on policy, resourcing, staffing, and leading professional affairs for engineers and architects working in the HHS and serving in its Commissioned Corps.

Invited guests include all nominees and their agency heads or commanders; leaders from engineering associations; members of Congress and their staff; members of the judging panel; and local media.
