Gus Vratsinas, P.E.Gus Vratsinas, P.E., chairman of the Little Rock, Arkansas-based Bailey Construction and Consulting, was recently inducted into the Arkansas Business Hall of Fame. Established by the University of Arkansas Sam M. Walton College of Business, the hall of fame honors outstanding business leaders in the state. Before joining Bailey Construction and Consulting, Vratsinas was chairman and CEO of Vratsinas Construction Co., which he cofounded in 1987 with two partners. Vratsinas earned both bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the University of Arkansas.

Rob Stallings, P.E.Oklahoma Governor Mary Fallin has appointed Rob Stallings, P.E., to the Oklahoma Water Resources Board. A founding partner and principal engineer of Envirotech Engineering and Consulting, based in Enid, Oklahoma, Stallings will serve as an oil and gas representative on the board. He has worked in the oil and gas industry since 1980, designing, permitting, and providing project management for water recycling facilities. His experience also includes other oil and gas services, such as environmental due diligence studies and spill prevention control and countermeasure plans. Stallings earned a bachelor’s degree in aerospace engineering from Auburn University.

Christopher Day, P.E.Christopher Day, P.E., has been appointed to the University of Iowa’s College of Engineering Advisory Board. The vice president and client service manager with the US Federal and International Programs Market at Stanley Consultants graduated from the University of Iowa with a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering in 1991. As a member of the advisory board, Day will counsel the college of engineering, helping in the development and achievement of its strategic plan.

Dominick Servedio, P.E.The National Academy of Engineering has elected Dominick Servedio, P.E., of New York, New York, to its membership, noting his leadership and effective advocacy on behalf of the engineering and construction professions. He is the executive chairman of multi-
disciplinary firm STV, which has completed multibillion-dollar assignments throughout the country under his stewardship; an outspoken advocate and leader for improvements to infrastructure; and a past-president of the National Academy of Construction. Servedio earned his bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from New York University and a master’s degree in business administration from St. John’s University.

Paula Marino, P.E.Paula Marino, P.E., has been inducted into the State of Alabama Engineering Hall of Fame, which honors individuals for outstanding professional accomplishments and who have significantly contributed to their communities. Marino started with Southern Co. in 1993 and progressed through various roles in distribution, transmission, fossil-hydro generation, and nuclear generation before becoming the executive vice president of engineering and construction services. She earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees in electrical engineering from Auburn University.

James Hussin, P.E.James Hussin, P.E., of Tampa, Florida, has received the Wallace Hayward Baker Award from the American Society of Civil Engineers’ Geo-Institute. The award recognizes creative and innovative contributions in the field of ground modification. Hussin has more than 35 years of experience in geotechnical engineering and construction. He joined Hayward Baker Inc. in 1984 as a senior project engineer and in 1992 became chief engineer in the company’s Tampa office. In 2015 he was named a director at Keller Foundations LLC. He is the author of more than 20 published papers on ground improvement, grouting, and geotechnical engineering.
