NSPE President David Martini, P.E., F.NSPE, is urging Congress to include professional associations, like NSPE, in relief funding for small businesses. In a letter to House and Senate lawmakers, Martini urged the lawmakers to make Section 501(c)(6) organizations eligible for certain economic relief opportunities under the CARES Act, such as the Paycheck Protection Program. Section 501(c)(6) organizations are not immune to financial hardships created by the coronavirus pandemic, Martini wrote, and should be eligible for this aid.
