Statement of Interest
I have been a registered NSPE member since 04/06/1998, and I am also a registered professional
engineer in the state of Florida and 37 other states.
I believe NSPE’s mission has helped our engineering society, especially for engineering students
who are looking for a career and serving their community.
I am also a member of Florida Engineering Society with extensive involvement in volunteer
work such as STEM program.
As a delegate, I will perform, support, and act as an NSPE delegate, I would actively engage in
NSPE's mission, attend the House of Delegates Assembly, and advocate for the profession and
the public. As a delegate, I would assist in shaping NSPE's direction, represent my state, and
foster a strong partnership between state societies and the national organization.
I would commit to:

- Participating in Committees and Task Forces
- Stay Informed , promote NSPE's Values

For over 15 years, as a former Government employee of the State of Florida via the University of Central Florida as an adjunct teacher for four years at the College of Engineering Technology; and as an employee of Orange County Government, Mr. Shahnami was responsible for the Operations, Planning and Construction Administrations activities. From 1991 - 2022, Mr. Shahnami established an engineering firm and as a President and owner of SGM engineering, he was responsible for Managing, Design, Drafting, Planning, Administration, Cost Estimating, meeting, inspection of Facilities HVAC, Test& Balance, Process piping, Plumbing, Fire Protection of Facilities. This includes calculating and selecting equipment to meet the building’s mechanical needs.
