NSPE State Delegate Nominee–Louisiana
Jason P. Fennell, P.E.

Statement of Interest
I am interested in serving as the NSPE State Delegate for Louisiana. I am a licensed Professional Engineer in seven Southeastern states and am involved in my state NSPE affiliate organization, the Louisiana Engineering Society (LES). I am also heavily aware of issues pertaining to licensure, professional ethics, and the business of Engineering that arise during legislative sessions at the state level. I have served in leadership capacities at the chapter level of LES.
I am currently employed as the Vice President of Operations for a multi-disciplinary Engineering and Surveying firm in Baton Rouge, Louisiana which employs approximately 130 people. My role partially consists of ensuring that my firm delivers quality work in a professional manner, as well as communicating with clients and peers on contracts and scopes of work. I am also the Supervising Professional Engineer in six of the seven states I and my firm is registered in. I feel that I have the background and demeanor necessary to fulfill this position and I appreciate your consideration.
History of Experience
I have been a member of the Louisiana Engineering Society, (LES) an affiliated society, since becoming a professional engineer.
I have had the following activities for LES:
- Chapter officer (Director through President -Elect)
- Annual Mathcounts volunteer ( proctoring, grading, coordinating lightning round)
- Annual volunteer at membership fundraising events
- Scholarship Committee
- Presenting at annual state conference
I have attended the yearly NSPE conference and participated in member feedback.
In addition to NSPE and LES I am also a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), the American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC), and the American Institute of Steel Construction (AISC). I have participated in national conferences for these organizations and presented at the national conference for ASCE.
I have volunteered for a variety of community organizations including litter pickups, the food bank, and have also coached my kids’ sports teams.
Registration is open for NSPECon26 in New York City, New York!
Volunteering at NSPE is a great opportunity to grow your professional network and connect with other leaders in the field.
