Meet Stampy the Seal

Who Is Stampy?

Say hello to Stampy the Seal, NSPE’s friendly mascot, licensed Professional Engineer, and your go‑to guide for connection, collaboration, and community. As NSPE’s Community Engineer & Resident Guide, Stampy was created to make your experience more welcoming, engaging, and valuable from day one. More than a mascot, Stampy is a consistent presence throughout the NSPE Exchange—helping members discover resources, join conversations, celebrate achievements, and truly feel at home in the community.

Stampy

Why a Seal?

In engineering, a seal means something.

An engineer’s seal and stamp represent trust, responsibility, and professional accountability. When a licensed Professional Engineer applies their seal, it signifies that the work meets established standards and that an engineer is standing behind it with integrity.

That meaning inspired Stampy.

We chose a seal as our community mascot to reflect the role engineers play every day: reviewing, validating, and taking pride in work that impacts the public and the profession. Stampy embodies that same sense of credibility and commitment.

Just as an engineering seal signifies quality and confidence, Stampy’s presence in NSPE Exchange signals collaboration, shared knowledge, and professional pride. And when Stampy gives a contribution a “seal of approval,” it’s a lighthearted nod to a very real tradition engineers know and respect.

Stampy connects the seriousness of professional responsibility with the friendliness of a community built to support, recognize, and elevate engineers at every stage of their career.
