The National Society of Professional Engineers (NSPE) proudly announces the promotion of Stacey Ober to the position of Vice President, Communications and Marketing. With over 25 years of experience, including 20 years with NSPE, Ober brings a wealth of experience in the areas of marketing, communications, and media relations along with a deep understanding of NSPE, its members, and the engineering profession.
In her most recent role as Director of Marketing and Outreach, Ober spearheaded NSPE's branding and messaging efforts, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives while driving growth and engagement across all communication channels. Her adept management of multifaceted marketing campaigns, Value Proposition research, exploration of new partnership opportunities, and dedication to enhancing member value earned her respect as a trusted leader throughout the organization.
“Stacey’s promotion to Vice President, Communications and Marketing reflects her outstanding contributions to NSPE and her unwavering dedication to advancing our mission,” said NSPE Executive Director and Chief Executive Officer Monika Schulz, CAE. “Her strategic foresight, innovative approach, and commitment to excellence make her the ideal candidate to lead NSPE's communications and marketing efforts.”
With a Master of Arts in Mass Communication from the University of Florida and a Bachelor of Science in Communication for Business from Florida State University, Ober also brings a wealth of knowledge to her practical expertise. She is a member of PRSA (Public Relations Society of America) and ASAE (American Society of Association Executives), and her contributions have been recognized with prestigious awards, including the 2018 Silver EXCEL Award for her outstanding work on the Professional Engineers Day (#LicensedPEDay) campaign. Ober transformed “PE Day” from a concept to a reality, now in its ninth year and internally recognized across the profession as an initiative to raise awareness about the significance of the professional engineering license and celebrate licensed professional engineers.
In her expanded role as Vice President of Communications & Marketing, Ober is set to leverage her profound rapport with members and partners to integrate effective marketing and communication strategies across NSPE. With new responsibilities including NSPE’s website and publications in addition to marketing, Ober will drive NSPE's mission forward and foster a culture of innovation and collaboration. She is poised to lead NSPE’s communications and marketing efforts to new heights, ensuring continued growth and impact within the professional engineering community and beyond.
“I am honored to take on this new role and excited to continue advancing NSPE's mission through strategic communication and marketing initiatives,” said Ober. “I look forward to collaborating with our talented team to drive innovation, foster engagement, and deliver value to our members and the engineering community."
Prior to joining NSPE, Stacey worked as the Marketing & Media Relations Manager for a public relations agency in Jacksonville, Florida and as a Media Relations Manager for Hawk's Cay Resort in the Florida Keys. She also served as a Legislative Assistant to a Florida State Representative. Outside of work, Stacey is currently volunteering with the Children’s Theatre of Southern Maryland as the Producer for their upcoming production of “High School Musical,” and can generally be found playing “taxi” to rehearsals, voice lessons, and acting classes for her theatre-obsessed daughter.
