The NSPE Construction Project of the Year Award recognizes an outstanding construction project led by a licensed Professional Engineer or engineering team. This award honors projects that demonstrate exceptional application of engineering principles, creativity, and leadership while delivering meaningful benefits to the public, the profession, and the built environment.

Established to highlight excellence in engineering within construction, the NSPE Construction Project of the Year Award celebrates projects that:
- Exemplify high standards in the application of engineering principles
- Demonstrate originality and innovation in design, materials, or construction methods
- Address complex technical or logistical challenges
- Provide significant social, environmental, or economic benefits
- Advance public understanding and appreciation of the engineering profession

Nomination Process
Nominations for the NSPE Construction Project of the Year Award are accepted once per year, closing June 14, 2026. Submissions are reviewed by the NSPE Professional Engineers in Construction (PEC) Committee using a standardized evaluation rubric to ensure fairness and consistency. The award recipient will be announced at NSPECon, NSPE’s annual conference.
All nominations must be submitted through the online nomination portal at apply.nspe.org. For reference purposes, nominators may also download the NSPE Construction Project of the Year Award nomination form.
