States With Most Structurally Deficient Bridges
The American Road & Transportation Builders Association recently released its analysis of data from the Federal Highway Administration’s 2013 National Bridge Inventory. More than 63,000 bridges are in need of structural repair. Bridge decks and support structures are regularly inspected by state transportation departments for deterioration and are rated on a scale of zero to nine. A bridge is classified as structurally deficient and in need of repair if its rating is four or below.
