Year in Review 2016

Carrying out a commitment to the professional concerns of licensed PEs across all disciplines

Engineering, whatever the discipline, is about creation—creating ingenious solutions to society’s problems. For NSPE members, much personal time and effort is spent on creating a better organization for professional engineers and a stronger profession as a whole.

Thanks to these efforts, 2016 was a year of great achievement for NSPE. The Society’s work was focused on four main areas:

NSPE champions the PE license and promotes a constant focus on the public health, safety, and welfare NSPE gives voice to the ethical practice of engineering NSPE helps professional engineers advance in their careers NSPE connects like-minded professionals at all career stages

Those who followed the Society’s work most closely saw these efforts played out in many ways: promoting the safe development of autonomous vehicles, advocating for stronger licensure requirements in federal engineering, conducting numerous seminars on engineering ethics, and launching a robust online platform that allows members to connect with each other.

If you missed them, here are some of the year’s highlights.
