Living Shorelines - Coastal Waters

The combination of rising sea levels and heavily concentrated development along our coastlines poses challenges that will only intensify in the future.

All our shoreline land masses, of course, have been formed by the collision of land and sea, but they now face unprecedented challenges.  Hard decisions will need to be made about what areas to protect, and also regarding the hard truth that some coastal properties will need to be surrendered to the seas.

During this session, attendees will be given an overview of past practices, but will also be provided with a review of the latest thinking and technological developments as the world faces this immense challenge.
