Florida Poly receives national grant to study 3D-printed rocket parts

A professor at Florida Polytechnic University has received a national grant to focus on the durability of 3D-printed materials used in jet and rocket engines. Dr. Sanna Siddiqui, assistant professor of mechanical engineering at Florida Poly, received a nearly $150,000 grant from the National Science Foundation on Tuesday. She will lead efforts to research the durability and longevity of 3D-printed, nickel-based materials used in jet and rocket engines. The grant will span two years and could potentially be integrated into the school's curriculum.
