Female engineer sues Google over alleged discrimination
An engineering director for Google is suing the firm, claiming she was paid less and denied a promotion because she's a woman, then was demoted for complaining. Ulku Rowe, a former managing director for JPMorgan currently working in Google’s Cloud unit, "has played a critical leadership role in building Google Cloud's offering in financial services," according to the suit. Instead of promised substantial annual equity awards, she received only small ones, hundreds of thousands of dollars less than those given to similarly situated men at the company, the suit filed in southern New York U.S. District Court alleged.
