Conners has served on numerous boards for the Michigan Society of Professional Engineers, including as the Western Michigan Chapter president and president-elect for the State Board of MSPE. He is also a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers, the Grand Valley Metro Council, the Grand Rapids Charter Township Planning Commission and Site Plan Review Committee, and many other organizations. Conners earned a bachelor of science in civil engineering from Michigan Technological University; he received a master’s degree in organizational management from the University of Phoenix.

Wheeler has served as the secretary, director, and vice president of the Jackson Chapter of the Michigan Society of Professional Engineers and received the MSPE Jackson Chapter Young Engineer of the Year award in 2013. He presently chairs the MSPE Building Committee, and was instrumental in establishing MSPE’s mission statement. He has worked with MATHCOUNTS for the Jackson Chapter and at the state level. He also served as secretary and is currently president of MSPE. He has a bachelor of science in civil engineering from the University of Michigan.
