2015 NSPE-PEC George B. Hightower, P.E. Fellowship
I'm a Civil Engineering PhD Candidate at the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign (UIUC) researching computer vision-based performance monitoring of construction. My research leverages big visual data (images, videos, laser scanning and RGBD point cloud models) and Building Information Modeling. I work on automating assessment of work-in-progress to streamline current construction management practices.
I received a Master of Computer Science at UIUC and a MS in Civil Engineering and a BA in Architecture (and a minor in Structural Engineering) at the University of California at Berkeley. There, I worked with Dr. William Ibbs researching compensating home office overhead in case of owner-caused delays. Upon receiving my bachelor's degree, I worked as a design/field engineer at the Samsung Austin Semiconductor Plant project in Austin,TX for about a year before going back to Berkeley for my master's degree.
