Marc Walch, P.E., has been hired by Dewberry as senior associate and market sector leader in the firm’s Orlando office. He will provide management and technical expertise to help communities in the southeast address water challenges. He has more than 37 years of utility engineering and consulting experience, specifically water, wastewater, and reclaimed water engineering. Walch has published more than 20 articles and is a member of numerous societies, including the American Water Works Association and the Water Environment Federation.
Two employees at I+S Group, a regional planning firm headquartered in Mankato, Minnesota, have earned their PE licenses. The first is Brent Krohn, P.E., whose career focus includes commercial, industrial, agricultural, and housing work. He is a graduate of the civil engineering program at South Dakota State University. Brian Welch, P.E., has also earned his license. He has focused on municipal projects, including infrastructure and utility extensions, road improvements, reconstruction, and new site development. He was a critical component of a recent sewer regionalization project at Madison Lake, Minnesota. Welch holds a bachelor’s in civil engineering from Minnesota State University.
Urban Engineers has promoted Daniel Humes, P.E., to site and land development practice leader. He most recently worked as the firm’s project manager for Paseo Verde, a mixed-use residential development in Philadelphia that became the first venture in the US to earn LEED Platinum for neighborhood design. Humes serves as his local chapter’s MATHCOUNTS coordinator and is an active member of the Engineers’ Club of Philadelphia.
Florida Governor Rick Scott has announced two reappointments to the Florida Board of Professional Engineers. Warren Hahn, P.E., the CEO for Hahn Engineering, has over 50 years of experience. He’s been involved in all sizes of HVAC work and has worked on fire alarm and fire safety systems for numerous facilities. Hahn has also served as an expert witness for similar cases. He earned his bachelor’s in mechanical and electrical engineering from the US Naval Academy. Also reappointed to the board was Michelle Rambo-Roddenberry, P.E., Ph.D., an associate professor at a joint engineering college between Florida A&M University and Florida State University. She researches concrete failure behavior and bridge engineering, and she has written several technical journal articles as well as conference papers. Her department has earned the NCEES Engineering Award Grand Prize thanks to her work.
Michael Flatt, P.E., has earned the project management professional designation from the Project Management Institute. A federal operations and project manager at Hanson Professional Services, Flatt has experience providing management on numerous jobs throughout Springfield, Illinois. He holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in structural and geotechnical engineering, both from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
