NSPE will get a special guided tour of the Capitol building. This is a special tour that is not given to the general public. The tour will begin with a presentation by the Architect of the Capitol, Stephen Ayers, AIA, who will talk about the restoration of the building that is getting underway. Following the presentation there will be a guided tour and a short film on the history of the Capitol.

July is a great time to visit the spectacular monuments along the National Mall in the District of Columbia. This tour offers the opportunity to see the monuments when they are illuminated, less crowded, and more accessible than during the daytime. The guides are knowledgeable and can provide a wealth of information on the history of each of the spectacular structures.

You can't do anything more patriotic than watching the national pastime on a national holiday! The Washington Nationals will be playing the Chicago Cubs with an 11:00 AM start time. Included in the cost of the event are a reserved seat, transportation to and from the game, and food.
