The Milton F. Lunch Research Fellowship will be open to students of engineering, architecture, construction, and law. The fellowship serves to increase understanding of the complex relationship between practice management, professional liability, and public policy issues. Purpose
In 2002, NSPE and Victor O. Schinnerer & Company Inc. established the Milton F. Lunch Memorial Research Fellowship in memory of the remarkable man who served as NSPE's general counsel for 40 years. Through his advocacy of engineering ethics and equitable risk allocation among project stakeholders, Lunch was a positive influence on countless engineering careers and on the successful completion of projects around the world.
Program
- Intensive eight week summer program located at Schinnerer's Chevy Chase, Maryland office, adjacent to Washington, D.C., with an $8,000 stipend.
- Educational component—To advance Fellow's understanding of professional liability risk management in the performance of engineering and architectural services.
- Research component—To address a specific source of risk relevant to engineering or architectural practice and, to the extent practicable, to the fellow's field of academic study.
