Who's JETS? JETS is a national non-profit educational organization focused on giving students an opportunity to explore engineering, assess their interests in the profession, and experience the career through real-world based competitions. |
Need cash? Get it from the Junior Engineering Technical Society (JETS) and NSPE Student Chapter Stimulus Plan.
The Plan
- You connect high schools students to engineering through JETS.
- JETS gives your NSPE chapter cold, hard cash!
Starting this summer, JETS and NSPE are partnering together to put cash in your pocket and get more high schools involved in
engineering across the country to show them how engineers make a difference.
JETS has a competition called TEAMS and each year high school students compete to solve real-world engineering challenges. The focus for TEAMS 2010 will incorporate an NAE Grand Challenge!
What does my chapter do?
Choose from three easy options:
- Want $250?
Write a competition scenario and questions for the JETS TEAMS 2010 competition related to the theme: Water, Water Everywhere.
- Earn $500.
Recruit high schools to participate in TEAMS 2010 and get $25 per school (up to 20).
- Need $1,000?
Win the JETS and NSPE Student Chapter of the Year Award. (Earn points by writing a scenario, recruiting high schools, volunteering at a competition, starting a new competition, etc.)
The sky's the limit so get active and stimulate your chapter's budget!
Remember, most TEAMS competitions are conducted on college/
university campuses. Check out jets.org/teams to find a list of
competition sites.
Cultivate future NSPE members!
Interested? Send an e-mail to teams@jets.org and JETS will contact you with the
details on how your chapter can earn cold, hard cash to support your chapter's goals.
