Gary Raba, P.E., Ph.D., has been named chairman and CEO of the board of directors for Raba Kistner, a program management and engineering consulting firm. He moves into this position after previously serving as vice chairman of the board, and he has been president and CEO of Raba Kistner Infrastructure since 2005. Raba recently completed a term on the Texas Board of Professional Engineers, having been appointed by Texas Governor Rick Perry in 2008.
The board of directors of HR Green, based in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, has named Steven Heyer, P.E., as the company's interim CEO. A 34-year veteran of the firm, Heyer has held numerous leadership positions within HR Green, including most recently as president of its senior living business line. During his time with the firm he has worked on many types of projects, including airports, libraries, medical facilities, city halls, and water and wastewater treatment plants.
William Holder, P.E., of Rapid City, South Dakota, has been promoted to vice president of marketing for American Engineering Testing, an engineering consulting firm. He had previously overseen marketing efforts in the company's western region and will now perform this work companywide. Holder has over 20 years of experience in performing and managing environmental, geotechnical, and construction materials engineering and testing, on top of his marketing and business development knowledge.
Brierley Associates announced the opening of a new branch this year, located in Burnsville, Minnesota, to be headed by Todd Christopherson, P.E. He previously worked as a senior consultant with the firm, and he also was president of the Minnesota construction management firm Amcon. Christopherson is a past chapter president for the Minnesota Society of Professional Engineers and past president for the state chapter of the Construction Management Association of America. He holds bachelor's and master's degrees in civil engineering from the University of Illinois.
Rob Olson, P.E., has been hired by Westwood Professional Services as a project manager and will work out of the St. Cloud, Minnesota, office. He joins the multidisciplinary survey and engineering firm after having performed similar work for MFRA Inc. He holds a B.S. in civil engineering from the University of North Dakota.
Josh Pope, P.E., successfully passed the Principles and Practice of Engineering Examination earlier this year, earning his license in the state of Minnesota. He works as a civil engineer for I&S Group, a Minnesota-based design firm. Pope has worked in many aspects of design, including master planning, plan and specification preparation, as well as ushering projects from design to construction. He has a bachelor's in natural science from St. John's University and a bachelor's in civil engineering from the University of Minnesota.
