Deborah Grubbe, P.E., NASA Administrator Charles Bolden recently gave the NASA Exceptional Public Service Medal to Deborah Grubbe, P.E., of Chadds Ford, Pennsylvania, for her years of work with the program. She was a consultant on safety culture for the Columbia Shuttle Accident Investigation Board and a member of the NASA Aerospace Safety Advisory Panel from 2003–12. She received a bachelor's in chemical engineering from Purdue University, and in 2010 she became the first woman to receive an honorary doctorate in engineering from the university.
 
William Mielke, P.E.
William Mielke, P.E.,was recently nominated by President Obama to be an advisor for the Saint Lawrence Seaway Development Corp. A part of the Department of Transportation, the agency is responsible for ensuring the safe transit of marine commerce. President and CEO of Ruekert & Mielke Inc., headquartered in Waukesha, Wisconsin, the PE has previously served as a member on the Special Committee on the Great Lakes Resource compact. Last year, he won the private sector qualifications-based selection award, presented by NSPE and the American Council of Engineering Companies.
 
Ray Darling, P.E.Darling, P.E., has been promoted to senior associate in the Albany, New York, office of Erdman Anthony, an infrastructure engineering and support services company. Working as office manager and civil team leader in his local office, Darling extends the firm's services to numerous municipalities, state agencies, and private clients. He holds a bachelor's in civil engineering from Clarkson University.

Chris Flanigan, P.E.Chris Flanigan, P.E., has been promoted to director of engineering for the city of Allen, Texas. He has worked for the city for 12 years, most recently serving as the assistant director of engineering. Prior to his public work, Flanigan had been a graduate and associate engineer at two private firms. He holds a bachelor's in civil engineering from Kansas State University and an MBA from the University of Texas at Dallas.
 
Bob Hough, P.E.The Princeton Borough in New Jersey has named Bob Hough, P.E., as the head of the department of public works. The department has recently expanded to include areas like the sewer operating committee, where Hough recently worked as an engineer. Hough has been with the borough for 10 years.
 
Peter Pascua, P.E.Peter Pascua, P.E., passed the PE exam in Illinois this past summer. Working in the structural engineering department for Willett, Hofmann & Associates Inc., Pascua is responsible for structural projects such as major river crossing cofferdams and major river steel girder erection plans. He holds a bachelor's and a master's from the University of Illinois at Champaign/Urbana.
