Top Member Benefit Receives National Award
PE Magazine Lauded for New Design

ALEXANDRIA, VA. (August 20, 2007)— The National Society of Professional Engineers' feature publication and top rated member benefit, PE magazine, has been presented with a Magnum Opus Award in the Most Improved Design category by Publications Management and the Missouri University School of Journalism.

"Redesigning and relaunching a flagship publication is never an easy task," said NSPE Executive Director Lawrence Jacobson. "But our hard work has paid off and we've achieved success with both the new design and the content in PE magazine. I think our members will agree this award is well deserved."

The honorable mention award follows the relaunch of Engineering Times as PE magazine beginning with the January/February issue in 2006. Engineering Times was published by NSPE beginning in 1979, and up until the redesign, served as NSPE's flagship publication for engineering and member news. Plans to launch PE magazine began in 2005, following the efforts of NSPE's Future Directions Task Force to reinvent the society.

The Magnum Opus acknowledges and rewards every aspect of an internal or external publication's marketing and messaging success in the areas of writing, design, strategy, and management.
