NSPE monitors the latest issues vital to the profession currently pending before Congress and Federal Agencies. The following information describes NSPE's ongoing efforts and agenda within the federal arena.

COFPAES
NSPE is an active member of the Council on Federal Procurement of Architectural and Engineering Services (COFPAES), a coalition of NSPE, the American Congress on Surveying and Mapping, the American Institute of Architects, the American Society of Civil Engineers, and the Management Association for Private Photogrammetric Surveyors. COFPAES works to protect the Brooks Act and promote qualifications-based selection for engineering services.

QBS Study
NSPE has been a long-time supporter of the use of qualifications-based selection of engineering services. To help gather information about the impact of QBS on the procurement process, NSPE is asking members to take part in a study commissioned by the American Council of Engineering Companies.
