How do I access the survey?
First, make sure you have registered on the survey site, nspe.enetrix.com. Your NSPE Member ID will not work, you must create a new username and password of your choice. In order to assure your anonymity and confidentiality, you must register at the survey site. Registration is free, and in no way obligates you to participate or purchase. Your information will NOT be used for ANY purpose other than to verify the data and control access into the survey. Next, login at the survey site using the username and password you created.

After you have participated in the survey, a summary of your data will appear. From this page you will be directed to the Welcome Page. From the Welcome Page, click Reports to view the complimentary data. This is data based on your level of expertise in your geographic region.

Or, if you are not a working engineer or do not wish to participate, you can still purchase reports by logging in and clicking on, Purchase . This is data based on all levels of expertise throughout the USA.

What is the cost of the online subscription and what is included in it?
- NSPE Member/Participant: Free Unlimited Report Access for 12 months
- NSPE Member/Non-Participant: $155 Unlimited Report Access for 12 months
- Non-Member/Participant: $400 Unlimited Report Access for 12 months
- Non-Member/Non-Participant: $620 Unlimited Report Access for 12 months
Customized options can permit you to choose reports based on criteria such as: professional level, geographic region, metro area, job function, registration status, primary industry, education level, experience, and supervisory responsibility, among others. Metro regions can be excluded from a particular area if desired. Unlimited subscribers also have the option to purchase a print report, and have access to the standard reports which are available for download and contain policies and practices, trends analysis, benefits information, and much more.

How often may I access survey data?
All report subscriptions are available for one year from date of purchase. Access is unlimited.

On average, the survey takes 5-7 minutes to complete after logging in.

Do I have to participate to purchase a survey?
No. Over the years, salary survey's produced by NSPE have evolved into the primary engineering compensation resources for working engineers, their human resource departments, libraries, and university engineering departments. Anyone who can benefit from the information contained inside is welcome to purchase a subscription to access the data.

I am a student. How can I use the survey?
Unfortunately, students are unable to participate in the survey b/c they typically do not have a steady income from an engineering job. However, students are still able to access the information found inside by purchasing a subscription.

Do I have to be an NSPE member to participate?

What is the effective date of the data in the report?
The report is generated on-demand with data that is current within the past year. For example, if you enter/update your salary data today, reports generated tomorrow will use your data.

When entering my data, what effective date should I use?
The effective date is the same date that you are entering data. If your salary or position changes after you initially enter your data, we suggest that you update that information. With the continual survey process there is no start or end date to the survey.

How can I view more information about a job?
On the survey screen that requests your professional level, click the underlined title for the desired level. A detailed grade description will appear in another window.

I went back to a section and the information I entered was not there. What happened to my data?
If you skip to another section without using the Next Page button at the bottom of a particular section, you will lose your changes. The Next Page button saves your data.

Your data is saved as you complete the survey. Each time you click Next Page your data is saved.

Can I update or review my data once it's been entered? How?
Yes. We highly encourage all members to update their data as it changes. To make changes, login to the NSPE survey site, nspe.enetrix.com , and click on Participate . Make your relevant changes on each page.

Is my information confidential?
Yes. Your information is accessible only with your NSPE Salary Survey username and password. All data is reported in aggregate. Click Privacy Policy at the top of the survey screen for more information about how your data is used.

Is there survey data for International countries outside the USA?
The survey is for U.S. members only. At this time, there are not enough members within any specific country to validate survey data internationally.

What format are the survey reports in?
Survey reports are created in PDF or HTML format. To read the PDF reports, you need to have the free Adobe Acrobat Reader installed on your computer. If you need to download Acrobat Reader, visit www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep.html.
