Do I need to register on the site before I can post a job?
Yes. Before you can post a job you need to complete a short visitor registration form. You will be required to enter your first name, last name, e-mail address, and password. This information is used to set up an account for you as a visitor, allowing you to log in the next time without having to reenter your personal information. This information will not be shared with any third party.
What information do I need to include in my job listing?
1. Hiring company. This information is for the company who will actually employ the job seeker. This information will be visible in your job posting. The address information should reflect the primary location the job seeker would work if hired.
2. Application Instructions. Include any specific application requirements (references, salary history, etc.) and instructions for applying in the box provided on the form. (Maximum Characters: 1000 characters)
3. Application Method. E-mail, fax, or company Web site. If you want the job seeker to apply through the mail, please add the mailing address to to the "Applications Instructions" box.
4. Job Title.
5. Job Description. (Maximum Characters: 5000)
6. Job Qualifications. (Maximum Characters: 5000)
7. Engineering Discipline: chemical, civil, construction services, electrical, environmental, fire protection, industrial, mechanical, project types, safety, structural (hold CTRL key and click to select more than one.)
8. Status: contract full time, shift.
9. Salary: Not listed, Less than 50K, 5175K, 76105K, over 106K.
What information is required when completing the online form?
Under the "Hiring Company & Information" section, you will need to enter the hiring company name, region, city, state, and zip. Also, under the "Job Details" section, you will need to enter the job title, job description, and job status.
How long will it take for my job listing to appear on the site?
Your job will appear immediately on the job board after you have paid with a credit card. Your ad will appear on the homepage within one hour (the most recent five postings always appear on the home page.)
Am I allowed to use HTML in the job listing?
Yes. You are allowed to use HTML, however we do not provide HTML technical support.
How do I add my company's profile information?
Please e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org if you wish to add your company information.
Can I post a job if I'm not an NSPE member?
Yes. You can post a job on the site even if you are not an NSPE member.
How do I post a job for someone else?
To post a job for someone else, you would need to get the log-in information from the person you are posting for. NSPE does not give out someone else's log-in information.
How do I know my credit card has gone through the system?
After you enter your credit card information and click "post job now" or "post later," a confirmation will appear on the Web page immediately. In addition, you will receive an e-mail confirmation within 10 minutes of placing your ad.
Do you offer special pricing for posting multiple job listings?
Yes, we offer 30 days of unlimited job listings. The 30 day period begins from the time you purchase the package on the site. You can post as many jobs listings as you want for 30 days.
I have purchased 30 days of unlimited postings. How do I add more jobs?
To add more jobs, log in and from the left side navigation select "Career Center," "Job Board," "Employers," "Manage Listings." Your job listings will appear on the page. At the top, right side of the Web page, click on "Add a New Job Post" and complete the form. After you are done entering the job details, click "Preview Your Posting" and "Continue." On the "Select Job Posting Package" screen, check the last radio button on the page that says "30 day unlimited posting [paid]." Next click either "Publish Later" or "Publish Now."
Why can't I find my job listing online?
If you cannot find your job listing on the site, please log in to manage your job listings. If a job listing is hidden online it will not be available for searching or display.
Where will my job listing appear?
Job seekers will find your job posting one of three ways:
1. By browsing through all current listings;
2. By searching using the Advanced Search feature; or
3. On the NSPE home page (the most recent five postings always appear on the home page).
How can I post a job while keeping the hiring company confidential?
To keep the hiring company confidential, list your hiring company as "Anonymous."
How do I update my job listing?
To update a job listing, log in and from the left side navigation select "Career Center," "Job Board," "Employers," "Manage Listings." Your job listings will appear on the page. Next to the job title click on the "Edit" link to make changes to the ad. After you have made the necessary changes, click on "Preview Your Posting" and then click on "Continue" to update your ad.
How do I renew an expired job listing?
To renew a job listing, log in and from the left side navigation select "Career Center," "Job Board," "Employers," "Manage Listings." Your job listings will appear on the page. Next to the job title click on the "renew" link and then click on "Continue." Next you will be directed to a Web page that asks for your credit card information. After you pay for the renewal, the job board listing will appear on the site.
When I log in, my job listing is marked as pending. What does this mean?
This means you have paid for the job listing and have chosen not to publish the ad. If you wish to publish the ad, click on the "Publish" link at the left side of the job title. If you need to add more information before publishing the ad, click on "Edit", make your changes to the listing, then proceed with publishing the ad to the site.
Can I post my job listing in more than one state?
No. You're allowed to select only one state from the list.
How do I delete a job listing from the site?
To delete a job listing, log in and from the left side navigation select "Career Center," "Job Board," "Employers," "Manage Listings." Your job listings will appear on the page. Next to the job title click on the "Hide online" link. You will be asked to confirm your decision to hide the job listing. If a job post is hidden online it will not be available for searching or display, but the expiration date will remain the same.
How do I update my company information?
Log in to the site and from the left navigaiton click on "My Information." Next scroll down the page, click on "View Your Company Information," and then click the "Edit" button located at the top of the page.
Will I get a receipt after I post a job?
A receipt will be automatically sent to the e-mail address you use to log in to the site. This receipt will arrive within 10 minutes of posting a job.
I've lost my receipt. How do I get a new one?
If you would like to receive a receipt for a job listing you placed on the site, send an e-mail to email@example.com or call 703-684-2800, Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m.5:00 p.m.
Is it safe to enter my credit card number?
Yes. VeriSign provides the Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) Certificates for our site. An SSL Certificate enables encryption of information during the online credit card transaction.
What credit cards are accepted?
American Express, Visa, MasterCard, or Discover.
Why was my credit card declined?
NSPE does not know why your card has been declined. Please contact your credit card company to determine why the card was declined.
Can I have access to the resume database?
NSPE does not have a resume database.
How do I print my job listing?
To print a job listing, click on the printer icon on the upper right side of the Web page.
How can I share my job listing with other people?
On the page where your job listing is displayed, click on the "Share" icon located on the top, right side of the page.
I have posted a job in the past and have forgotten my log in information. What do I do?

Limit of liability: Regarding job postings on the NSPE Job Board, NSPE shall not be liable for incidental or consequential damages, including but not limited to the Customer's loss of job advertising opportunities, and claims of any third party with respect to the placement of an advertisement on the NSPE Job Board. The liability of NSPE and the Customer's sole and exclusive remedy regarding Job Board postings shall be limited to either (1) return of any payment already made to NSPE for that advertisement or (2) in exchange for payment made for the original advertisement, a placement of an equivalent advertisement for an equivalent time period at no additional charge.
