Loews Coronado Bay Resort San Diego July 1115 Private Engineering Tour: NAVFAC "The Wet Side" Date: Wednesday, July 11, 11:00 a.m.5:00 p.m. (P.S.T.)
NAVFAC (Naval Facilities Engineering Command) is the Systems Command that delivers and maintains quality, sustainable facilities, acquires and manages capabilities for the Navy's expeditionary combat forces, provides contingency engineering response, and enables energy security and environmental stewardship. NAVFAC strengthens Navy and Marine Corps readiness through our work across the facility life cycle and our support of the shore expeditionary mission. In addition, NAVFAC provides program management for all aspects of the Naval Construction Force, the Seabees, and equipment, materiel management for the Naval Beach Group and other Naval Special Operating Units. Thanks to Rear Admiral Christopher J. Mossey, Civil Engineer Corps, United States Navy, and chief of civil engineers, who leads NAVFAC's 22,000 Civil Engineer Corps officers, civilians, and contractors who serve as engineers, architects, and contract specialists as well as the professionals from the NAVFAC Southwest Command for all their efforts to showcase NAVFAC's major engineering projects. The NSPE Private Engineering Tour: "The Wet Side" will showcase the Naval Base San Diego and the Naval Base at Point Loma. The Navy conducts premier fleet activity, provides unparalleled quality, support and services to afloat and shore commands, and enables those activities to maintain maximum fleet combat readiness. The NSPE tour will depart from the main lobby of the Loews Coronado Bay Resort. Arrive 15 minutes prior to start time for charter loading. Tour includes lunch, briefing, charter transportation, and professional development credit (6 PDHs). Note: Proof of U.S. citizenship U.S. birth certificate issued by the state government, a naturalization certificate, or U.S. passport is required for this tour.
