NSPE 2013 Leader Conference & Annual Meeting
Minneapolis Marriott City Center Hotel
Kids rule in Minneapolis-Saint Paul. Game-maker Cranium even calls Minneapolis the "Most Fun City," thanks to a professional team in every major sport, accessible arts, abundance of lakes, and the biggest mall in the country. Lots of outdoor fun during the Ten Best Days of Summer will be celebrated during the Aquatennial (July 12-20, 2013).
Minnesota is one of the select areas in the U.S. where there is a professional team in every major sport. The MLB Minnesota Twins, Northern League St. Paul Saints and the WNBA Minnesota Lynx warm up the summer. The NFL Minnesota Vikings dominate autumn and play into winter months. The NBA Timberwolves, NHL Wild, and NLL Swarm play winter schedules with playoffs drifting into summer. The Twin Cities of Minneapolis and St. Paul are also known for two of the top sports venues in America: the Twins' new Target Field and the Wild's Xcel Energy Center.

The Minneapolis Aquatennial is an annual event held since 1940 celebrating the city's famous lakes, rivers, and streams. Its current tagline is The Ten Best Days of Summer. It is held during the third full week of July and includes some 70 events, including sand castle building, beach volleyball, a tennis invitational, a triathlon, Aquatennial Torchlight Parade (Wednesday, July 17), Subway Block Party, and the final Target Fireworks (Saturday, July 20). The more novel events include the annual "Milk Carton Boat Races," in which participants in various divisions race boats they have constructed from milk cartons. The fireworks display is one of the largest in the country, and is bigger than the city's Fourth of July celebration! Plan to stay over and enjoy the celebration!
Tours will depart from the lower lobby of the Minneapolis Marriott City Center Hotel to take you to your destination, so plan to arrive promptly (recommend arrival 15 minutes prior to departure) as all tours will leave on time. Tours are available on a first come, first serve basis and have limited capacity. A separate ticket fee is required to offset the costs involved with the tours. NSPE reserves the right to cancel a tour if the minimum registration is not met.
